How did you get into Property Management?
I've worked in Property Management for over 15 years and have always had a passion for helping people. When the opportunity to build The Agency Hunter Valley Property Management department was presented to me, I just couldn't say no.
What do you enjoy most about your career?
Helping people is the most rewarding aspect of my role. I love helping tenants find new homes and helping landlords reach their investment objectives. The property management space also affords me great flexibility and no two days are the same which I love.
What do you love most about the Hunter Valley?
I love the Hunter Valley. It’s the ideal location. Great access into the city of Newcastle with its beautiful beaches as well as Nelson Bay. More than that, you're also so close to the Hunter Valley Vineyards and wineries, I think the Hunter Valley really has it all - and it’s just two hours from Sydney.
What attracted you to The Agency Hunter Valley?
Charlie & Tori Lund - they're a fantastic and passionate duo and I adore working alongside them. I also love The Agency brand, its constantly growing and evolving – it’s exciting to be a part of.
How do you maintain a great relationship with your clients?
Good communication is key in property management. The absence of open, clear communication is where it can all go wrong so I really prioritize communicating with my tenants and landlords, answering their questions and being transparent - it’s the best way to meet expectations and develop great working relationships.
What is the best advice you have given a landlord?
Short and sweet - look for an experienced Property Manager with great communication skills, they will keep you and your tenants in the loop at all times and that really is the key to a successful tenancy.
What is the best advice you have given a tenant?
Be sure to have open communication with your Property Manager. Right from the start of your tenancy, develop a strong relationship with open conversation.
What does success look like for you in your role as Portfolio Partner at The Agency Hunter Valley?
Continuing to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients is paramount to me. I also value building quality relationships with our landlords, tenants and suppliers and we're working on growing our property management department which is a huge milestone.
